Please check it out if you are into the soulsborne series, maybe a Castlevania or Metroidvania fan, or just cute indie games. I believe I didn't finished any npc questline because I would have needed to turn to a guide and I just didn't want to stop playing. NPC's all have their own quest and maybe you can help them from time to time and they, in turn, maybe will help you. The story is presented to you thourhg npc's dialogue and enviaroments, don't let the cute art style fool you. Momodora wears its influences on its sleeve, from Cave Story to Dark Souls (the latter being a mayor influence in this game).
a whole fucking better than I expected it to be. The levels are very well done, the atmosphere is top noch and the story is. I plays out very simplisticly but it works so so well.

The game is a metroidvania of sorts (forth game in the Momodora series but since this is a prequel I didn't stress too much about playing the first 3), 2d hack n slash with some different abilities you gain access further in the game. The first few levels are super simple but the controls work so well and, my god, that art style. But, funny thing is, I couldn't put it down. I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to play next but checking that this game was super short (6 hrs give or take but there content for a lot more hours) I started it up just to check it out so I could get a feel of the game and maybe have a fresher memory of it and how it plays for the time I did eventually would commit to play it fully. Luckily I added it for my 12in12 backlog list and the time came. but I was already thinking that this game would be left in my backlog forever untouched. Bought it because it was waaaay too cheap and the art style looked beautiful.
